Matariki is a time to think about the year ahead, particularly planning crops. The brightness of the stars is an indicator if it will be a year of bounty or a year with poor yield. Let us hope for bright stars this Matariki. Bring along your excess seeds to exchange. Seeds can be home harvested or store bought, but they must be named. Some random seed packets will also have gardening goody vouchers enclosed and we will have a supply of mini-seed starter kits available for children. Seeds may be of any variety so long as they are not pest or noxious plants. We will also have simple Matariki māramataka available as a gardening guide.
