To typecast someone is to repeatedly identify or represent them as a stereotype, which is something that happens each and every day- there is a generalized stereotype for just about any sexual orientation or race existing today. Some people are stereotyped based simply off their body piercings, tattoos and hair colour.

Many of these stereotypes can oftentimes be funny, and relatable for many, but how often do we judge or place others based on opinions formed without fact or basis?

2020 was the year to ask questions, to have conversations about diversity and acceptance and now, though dance Type Cast takes you on a journey through some of societies common roles and stereotypes, debunking myths, posing questions, and re-evaluating what’s really important and what brings us all together as dancers, creators and humans.

So, all you Nerds, Jocks, Cheerleaders, and Bake sale mums, get ready for a light, fun, exciting, memorable, and thought-provoking show filled with incredible dancing, choreography, visual effects, and more. From KJ Studios beautiful Twinkle Tots through to senior Contemporary dancers, this is a show NOT to be missed.

ALLOCATED SEATING & TICKETING

Following a recent update of the Covid-19 Alert Level 2 (Delta) guidelines for indoor events, there is no longer any restrictions on how many people can attend events at venues providing there is a one metre gap between individuals or groups while seated. While this means Baycourt Community & Arts Centre is still unable to operate at full capacity, to maximise audience numbers, we have modified the Addison Theatre’s seating layout to safely allow for one metre physical distancing between audience members.

With our updated allocated seating layout, all tickets for Type Cast must be purchased in groups of either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 in pre-determined areas. When purchasing tickets, you will be asked how many adult and child tickets you wish to book in your preferred category; please be aware that there are limited numbers of seats for sale in each category and demand may result in your preferred number of seats not being available at the time of your booking.
