Glyn Tucker and Barbie Davidson take you on a magic carpet ride, recalling the classic pop songs of the 60s through to the 80s.
Glyn sings Neil Diamond, Glen Campbell, Dean Martin, Gene Pitney, and more… whilst Barbie changes into spectacular costumes to deliver her stunning vocal performances of pop Divas; Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black, Sandie Shaw, Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark, not forgetting her Barbra Streisand duet with Glyn, “You Don’t Bring me Flowers”.
Special guest guitar legend Gray Bartlett needs no introduction. He plays some of his hits and shows off his guitar mastery.
The X Space theatre offers a unique and intimate cabaret atmosphere seating you close to the performers, where you might sing along with the hit songs of your life.
Singer/songwriter in The Gremlins, had a smash hit, “The Coming Generation” in 1966. He founded Mandrill Recording Studios in 1975, and produced and engineered hundreds of Kiwi recordings through the late seventies, eighties and early nineties. Having retired from the recording industry Glyn re-discovered his singing voice and began a new career; returning to his roots.
One of NZ's most versatile vocalists, Barbie has appeared dozens of times on NZTV shows of the 70's era, covering styles from country to jazz. (and most everything inbetween) Clubs and cabaret was where she developed her entertaining skills on P&O cruise ships, along with touring the RSL clubs of Australia, where she won the prestigious Ricky May Jazz Award in Brisbane. On returning to NZ she appeared on many international touring shows, including Kenny Rogers, Gene Pitney, Charlie Pride, Jeanie C Riley, Ray Price... and others.
