Get creative with your kids at Tu Meke Tamariki! Malcolm Clarke the author of the best-selling book, Tu Meke Tui!, hosts a creative writing workshop for primary aged children. Expect giggles and gasps as Malcolm begins with an interactive reading of his award-winning book and then works collaboratively with the attendees to create their own story inspired by nature. The workshop will teach the basics of story writing, character exploration and dramatisation. Writing materials provided.

Malcolm Clarke is an award-winning screen editor, best-selling author and sell out theatre maker. While his bread and butter comes from editing for screen Malcolm has more recently found his niche writing heart-warming stories for young people about our natural world. The success of his first book and stage show, Tu Meke Tu¯i¯!, shows just how powerful it can be when children get to learn about the environment in a fun and accessible way. Malcolm believes that highlighting the importance of conservation through inspiring stories will help to prepare children to be kaitiaki (guardians) who care for their world now and in the future. Malcolm's current mission is developing a series of collaborative workshops for children to grow literary awareness, and inspire young creatives in New Zealand.
