Papamoa New Year’s Eve Community Celebration

Tuesday 31 December

Tue 31 December, 18:00-21:30

Gordon Spratt Reserve, Papamoa

Celebrate New Year’s Eve with family, friends and neighbours. Join us and enjoy early-evening entertainment including kids’ rides, live music, games, roving performers, street food, pony rides and a petting zoo*. The night is topped off with fireworks at 9.30pm.

Bike or scooter down with the kids to Gordon Spratt Reserve for Pap East’s own community celebration. Don’t forget to bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy the celebration with your local community. Wanting to try something different? We’ve got your dinner covered with many food stalls offering a great variety of dinner options. All vendors will have mobile eftpos.

Enjoy the all-ages entertainment and early-evening fireworks, and then watch the midnight fireworks from your own deck or backyard at home.

This is an alcohol and smoke-free event. We have water refill stations onsite, bring your bottle and stay hydrated. With the sun being still strong in the afternoon, slip, slop, slap and wrap.  Please note that some of the amusement rides will not have eftpos facilities.

To enhance safe community celebrations in Papamoa, Gordon Spratt Reserve (including Alice Way and Parton Road between Papamoa Beach and Tara Roads) will become a temporary alcohol-free area from 10am on Tuesday, 31 December 2019 to 6am on Friday, 3 January 2020. No alcohol can be carried or consumed in this area while the temporary ban is in place. Police have the power to search for alcohol and issue a fine.

Due to limited general parking, we encourage travelling by bike, walking or sharing a ride down to Gordon Spratt Reserve. Car parking is available for mobility cardholders in the main car parking area.

*Note that the petting zoo and pony rides will only operate until 8.30pm, so that the animals are offsite prior to the 9.30pm fireworks.
