Fri 04 October, 19:30-22:00

Baycourt Addison Theatre

Presented by: Imperfect Offering

Imperfect Offering is delighted to present a concert of the music of Leonard Cohen. After sell-out performances and standing ovations in a North Island tour from 2016 to 2018, Imperfect Offering bring their spellbinding line-up to New Plymouth for the very first time and to Clarence Street Theatre in Hamilton. The band featured on TVNZ News and their shows have been a huge hit with audiences:

“Utterly blown away - exquisite violin, stunning arrangements”

“Sometimes better than the originals - wow, just wow"

Drawn together by lead vocalist Peter McMillan, the nine-piece band includes violin and even balalaika with musicians from all musical backgrounds including jazz, rock and classical. This year Imperfect Offering are touring the North Island with a life journey through Cohen's music from his first album “Songs of Leonard Cohen” in 1967 to his last album “You Want it Darker” released just weeks before his death in 2016.

With a story that spans from Cohen's Jewish upbringing in Montreal, through Greek Island life with his muse Marianne to New York’s artist hang-out Chelsea Hotel to a Zen Buddhist sanctuary on Mount Baldy, Imperfect Offering will present the best songs from this journey. Songs including "Suzanne""Bird on the Wire", and his best-known song "Hallelujah" as well as music from his astonishing last album, "You Want It Darker”
