Kauri is a taonga species. Reduced by the ever changing landscape and now threaten by Kauri die back disease. Where are our Kauri today? What were they once used for?

As part of Matariki and a one day only event the Department of Conservation warmly welcome you to book a guided talk and walk to meet the ancient watcher in the Kaimai Mamaku forest park.

Easy-med fitness, warm clothes, raincoat and sturdy shoes required. Allocated time 1.5hrs plus time required for processing through the Kauri die back wash station.
