Thanks to the support of the US Embassy and Craigs Investment Partners, Mega World includes a number of international artists and Australasian firsts. Including, as part of the Anti-heroes exhibition, the Australasian premiere of Dash Shaw’s film My Entire High School’s Sinking into the Sea. The animation comes hot from the Toronto Film Festival and includes voice-overs with; Jason Schwartzman, Lena Dunham and Susan Sarandon.

Also joining us from the US, for his first Australasian exhibition, is contemporary LA-based artist Gary Baseman whose wide-ranging portfolio includes illustration for numerous publications from the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and the Wall Street Journal to artists books, toy design, and collaborations with fashion designers, most recently a couture line for COACH. He is the artistic designer for bestselling board game Cranium and the creator of the Emmy award-winning ABC/Disney cartoon series, Teacher's Pet. Baseman will be exhibiting his Imaginary Friends at Tauranga Art Gallery from March 30. This will include a host of his characters that visitors can engage with personally and experientially.

Mega World at Tauranga Art Gallery will unlock your imagination, give form to the intangible and recapture childhood fantasies.

Entry to the Tauranga Art Gallery is free, but donations make great art like this happen!

Open daily 10am - 4.30pm.
