Enter your Christmas themed wearable art design into the Heart of Christmas Wearable Art Competition and you could be one of 20 creatives who will receive $500 and a mannequin to bring your creations to life and be exhibited throughout the city centre this Christmas.
Inspired by Wearable Arts, this dynamic showcase of talent will provide the public with something very different and unique in Downtown Tauranga, celebrating Christmas and art through installation. By submitting a design to the Heart of Christmas competition, you agree to create the same design for the exhibition. You also agree to the terms and conditions for delivery, installation and creation specifications. The top 20 winning artists will each receive $500 to create their winning entry, together with a mannequin which will be the base for their creation.
Competition open: from Monday, 24 September to Wednesday, 17 October.
Entry forms, specifications and terms & conditions
Judging: From Thursday, 18 October to Friday, 19 October.
Delivery of designs: Sunday, 18 November - Monday, 19 November.
Exhibition opens from: Wednesday, 28 November to Monday, 24 December.
The judges will look at the following criteria and how your design meets the criteria:
- christmas themed
- consideration of sustainability and use of recycled/up-cycled materials
- consideration of the design 'look' at night and during the day.
The mannequin dimensions are:
Shoulder width 35cm, shoulder circumference 89cm.
Waist width 20cm, waist circumference 57cm.
Hip width (bottom of bodice) 29cm, hip circumference 85cm
Bodice height 60cm, total height 160cm.
