Suffrage 125 - Find your suffrage ancestor

Friday 28 September

Fri 28 September, 10:00-12:00

Papamoa Library, 15 Gravatt Road, Tauranga 3118

During this drop-in session, find out whether your ancestor signed the petition which led to the passing of the Electoral Act 1893, resulting in all women in New Zealand gaining the right to vote.

As a result of this landmark legislation, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections.
